Burnside Lodge is located at the quiet end of Islay, around 40 minutes from ferry ports and the airport, it is still only around 15 minutes drive from Bruichladdich Distillery if you are looking to sample the local whisky. Burnside Lodge offers bed and breakfast accommodation and bespoke house parties throughout the year along with an informal coffee shop operating in the summer months, well supported by locals and guests alike who often choose to take an espresso and a slice of guinness cake out to watch the seals on the beach approximately 50 metres from the front of the house. The coffee shop is open in the guest lounge from after breakfast until about teatime from April to September - cakes, afternoon teas and secret suppers are also available to order during the winter monthsLocated on the Rhinns of Islay, Port Wemyss and it's sister village Portnahaven boast a traditional post office stores and one of the best pubs on the island; along with rapidly changing weather, sandy beaches, traffic free roads and an abundance of wildlife.The three rooms at Burnside Lodge all boast fantastic views of the Island of Orsay, the Rhinns Lighthouse and the local seals. Ample private parking and easy access to the bus service make getting around the island easy whilst enjoying the beauty of the quiet' end of the island.

Directions

Coming from Port Charlotte (approx 7 miles away), turn left as you approach the 30 mph signs for Portnahaven and then right at the phone box at the end of the road. Burnside Lodge is around 150 metres just before the bridge over the burn, opposite the sign for the coastal path, there is ample parking opposite the garden gate.
